Corporate Social Responsibility

At Messenger, we are fully committed to Corporate Social Responsibility. Our CSR strategy focusses on aiding and supporting our local community (and those we work in), encouraging learning within our industry, as well as fundraising for a number of worthy causes. We are hugely fortunate to have a very broad skill set within the team, each of whom can make notable positive contribution to our CSR efforts.

Below are some examples of how we put our strategy into action in the communities in which we live and work; how we encourage the next generation of talent in the heritage sector and how the Messenger family enjoys out of hours fun in the name of charity!

See what we've been up to...

Restoration of Priory House, Dunstable

On Saturday, April 22nd the Messenger team attended a community St George’s Day event hosted by Dunstable Town Council and their High Street Heritage Action Zone at Priory House.

Hands on at Stamford College

Friday 17th March saw the Messenger team attend Stamford College in support of the Construction Skills Event.

The Mutts Nutts Rescue

We are an office full of dog lovers! Quite often there will be a four-legged friend bumbling around during the working day and so this year we used our Christmas Fundraiser to support something close to home, with pets in mind!

Lincoln Medieval Bishops’ Palace

We are currently working on a major restoration project for English Heritage to safeguard what remains of the former bishops’ home at Lincoln Medieval Bishops’ Palace.

An away day at Lord Leycester Hospital!

Last month, several members of the Messenger team headed to Lord Leycester Hospital to deliver a series of traditional workshops for Donald Insall Associates away day. There's only one rule for their away days - the venue has to be one of their current or past projects, and fortunately LLH was the chosen one!

Stamford and Peterborough College Construction Events

For several years Roger, our Plumbing Manager, has assisted The South Lincolnshire Group Training Associate at both Peterborough and Stamford Colleges.

SPAB Scholars visit to Messenger

The SPAB scholarship is an advanced training programme for architects, engineers and surveyors in building conservation. Travelling around the country for nine months, the scholars are exposed to a wide variety of projects, conservation issues, philosophies and crafts.

Our Commitment to Training Continues through Covid

“The only thing worse than training your employees and having them leave, is not training them and having them stay.” Henry Ford.
