Messenger’s Conservation team specialises in the conservation and repair of historic buildings and monumental sculpture.
Our highly-skilled team undertakes conservation of all aspects of the building envelope, including stone, mortars and plaster, timber supports and applied decoration. With extensive specialist experience, we have a reputation for providing the high levels of technical knowledge and service demanded in the heritage sector.
Advice and Guidance
Taking an holistic approach when considering the most appropriate methods of repair and protection.
As part of the conservation process we consider the underlying causes for the loss of historic fabric and formulate action plans to prevent and minimise further failure. Conservation treatments are specific to each individual project and may typically involve environmental control, housekeeping measures, consolidation and stabilisation, cleaning, repair and reintegration.

Insurance Related Repairs and Recovery
A department dedicated to taking the drama out of a crisis, and simply concentrating on getting life back to normal following an insurance claim event. Approved by the majority of insurers and loss adjusters.
Specialist Roofing
A dedicated team of heritage skilled tradespeople, working with lead, stainless steel, copper, aluminium and stone slates. Holding the top rating of excellent with the LCA, and one of few companies supplying and installing Collyweston stone slates.
Fire Protection
A FIRAS accredited team, providing passive fire protection services to main contractors and building owners, offering a bespoke design service for non-standard applications.
