Raised cast in situ concrete slabs supported directly on steel-cased, cast-in-place driven piles provide a robust and resilient foundation solution for raised platforms constructed near riverside plots or within designated flood zones. In this system, steel casing tubes are driven to competent bearing strata, protecting the excavation from collapse and groundwater ingress, before being filled with reinforced concrete to form high-capacity piles capable of resisting axial loads, uplift forces, and lateral actions from flowing water. The in situ concrete slab is then cast at an elevated level above predicted flood heights, spanning between pile heads or integrated pile caps, creating a durable, monolithic platform.
This approach minimises ground disturbance and allows construction in saturated or variable soils commonly found near rivers. The resulting structure offers enhanced durability, long-term performance in aggressive wet environments, and compliance with flood mitigation strategies by maintaining habitable or operational spaces safely above flood levels.
