Taylor’s Bell Foundry Leicestershire

Taylor’s has been producing high quality bells in Loughborough since 1859 and is the last major bellfoundry in Britain. The sound of Taylor bells can be heard throughout the world from Australia to Africa, and from the Americas to Europe. 

Project Summary

Over the last 160 years, the buildings have been extended, altered and demolished to accommodate changes in business operations and to all Taylors to cast bigger bells. The buildings are Grade II* Listed and are of exceptional industrial significance. 

The contract works include the erection of access scaffolding; demolition works to include existing drawing office and removal of existing concrete slabs and landscaping; masonry works to include repair, cleaning and repointing works to facades and copings; repairs to timber floors; fire stopping works; joinery works to windows and doors; installation of new bespoke metal stair structures; roof works to include stripping existing coverings, repairs to existing structures, insulation and recovering works including lead flashings and weathering’s; mechanical, electrical and lift installations and internal plasterwork, finishes and decorations.
