Following a comprehensive in house survey of the stone, our masonry team are equipped to carry out a range of repairs that are tailored to the stone type and address the its defects.

Our heritage plasterers have the skills to undertake both internal and external repairs. From external stucco finishes to internal decorative ceiling stabilisation, they are able to perfectly match original designs and expertly blend their repairs with existing fabric.

Repairs to failing plaster often lead to the need for touching in. Individuals within our talented team are able to perfectly colour match the existing finish to blend in the repair with the original fresco.
Further to this, our team are able to provide high end repairs to fine and ornate interiors, including re-gilding and redecorating with specialist paints such as egg tempera.
With an in-house DOFF cleaning service, we are able to tackle a range of sensitive material cleaning. Our fully trained operatives are able to remove biological growth and paint finishes from a range of materials.
In addition, our conservators have completed training to use specialist chemicals to remove more challenging substrates such as graffiti.
With our conservation team based largely in East Anglia, flint is a particular specialism as it is used so frequently on vernacular buildings in this area. We are able to sensitively approach the repair of flint ruins due to the team’s ability to interpret these spaces and identify significant features within them.
In addition to this, the team can expertly complete repairs to both intricate flushwork and galletted finishes.
Our heritage bricklayers are able to re-construct any historic masonry feature using traditionally made bricks.
In addition to this they are able to recognise and replicate original pointing finishes such as struck, penny roll or tuck. Furthermore, they are also able to colour match stopping mortar mixes and colour washes to achieve the original finish.
The conservation team have the ability to repair a range historic finishes. These include the cleaning and re-patination of bronze, the specialist repair of objects made from Coade Stone or terracotta, and the repair of mosaic and terrazzo.
