Fiveways House is a Grade II listed building. Originally built as a shoe factory in the early 20th century, it later became a clothing factory. Fiveways has survived two fires, the most recent being in 2008.
Messenger was awarded the contract to convert a former Edwardian shoe factory into a 250 room student accommodation block. A city centre site, involving major demolitions, and shoring works, along with the erection of a substantial steel frame made for a challenging project. The listed features of the building, predominantly the facades, were supported and protected throughout the works.
