Christmas at Lincoln Medieval Bishops’ Palace

Published: 23rd November 2021

You may have read in our earlier article about the cutting-edge conservation project that is currently underway to save Lincoln’s history. The project for English Heritage will help safeguard what remains of the former home of the Bishops of Lincoln, which served as the centre of power for the largest diocese in medieval England for nearly five hundred years.

We’re eight months into the two-year project and with Christmas on the horizon, we’re busy getting into the festive spirit!

The famous Christmas markets are returning to Lincoln between 2nd – 5th December. Between 2nd – 3rd, the Messenger team that are currently working at the Palace will be holding ‘Watch Us Work’ sessions in front of the Bishops’ Palace. You will be able to watch the skilled work and intricate detailing that our stonemasons and lead workers do daily, with an opportunity to ask questions about the work at hand and other works being carried out behind the hoarding.

The teams will be there from 10am until 3pm. Look out for our signs that will point you in the right direction of our teams at work.
