Messenger bolsters Health and Safety team18th July 2017
Messenger has appointed Laura Williams to the new position of Health, Safety and Quality Assurance Manager. Laura joins long-standing Health and Safety Manager Paul Dexter in being responsible for the safety and wellbeing of its staff, subcontractors and clients.
Laura joined the company in March 2017, having worked as a Health, Safety and Environment Adviser at a large construction company for the past three years. She is a highly qualified professional, with numerous NEBOSH and IOSH certifications to her name.
Messenger Managing Director Paul Gibbons says: “We’re delighted to have such an enthusiastic and experienced health and safety professional join our team and work closely with Paul. Laura’s arrival reflects the growth of our business and the importance we place on maintaining exemplary standards wherever we work.”
Laura reports to Paul Gibbons and works closely with Paul Dexter who is a highly experienced NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety Officer with forty years experience in the industry.
Laura says: “Working safely and going home safely at the end of each day is vital, and Messenger is uncompromising in creating a safe working environment. I am passionate about helping to prevent the accidents and ill health that can have such a big impact on people and their families.”
Laura is proud of Messenger’s outstanding health and safety record to date. She says: “In common with most construction companies, Messenger’s biggest challenges are working at height and dust control. We are working hard towards eliminating both as an issue through workshops, training and other practical measures.”
At Messenger, Laura is responsible for pushing continuous improvement under the company’s ISO 9001 quality-management accreditation, as well as assisting Paul Dexter in providing practical support and training on health and safety matters at all levels of the company.
