Built around 1535, Lady Ham is a most charming Grade II listed property situated on the banks of the river Windrush. The house and gardens are located on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Burford, considered to be the southern gateway to the Cotswolds.
Brief Description of Works:
Messenger was awarded the contract for insurance related repair works to Lady Ham, caused through flood damage. These works included extensive dismantling, re-building and repairs to the dry stone walling which formed the banks of the water course. Further excavation and repairs to damaged hardstandings and paths directly adjacent to the river were also necessary, as well as substantial mortar pointing and masonry repairs. Aside from these external works the contract provided for works to the external pantry, summer house and garage/coach house. Lastly, a number of small flood defence plates were installed so as to lessen potential future flood issues.
