Castle Hill (Phase II)


Castle Hill is the principal house on Englefield Green, built around 1750 and originally known as ‘Elvils’. It was built for John Elvil by Leadbetter of Eton. Castle Hill House has evolved and grown over the centuries and is now a substantial Grade II listed mansion set in picturesque gardens.

Brief Description of Works: 

Following the successful completion of a recent £1.5m contract to complete external repairs and redecoration of Castle Hill House, Messenger was awarded a second contract to undertake extensive alterations to the swimming pool and gymnasium building for the same estate. These works consisted of major repairs to the roof, external painting to masonry and woodwork, the supply and installation of new bespoke external joinery, the demolition of internal walls as well as the construction of a number of new, small extensions.
